Donkeys Found Roaming On Roadway In Northern Westchester

While most people may expect leprechauns to be roaming around during Saint Patrick's Day weekend, police in Northern Westchester instead found two lost donkeys that needed a ride home.

Two lost donkeys were found by police officers in Bedford on Pound Ridge Road and taken to temporary stalls before being returned to their owner.

The animals were found in Bedford during the early morning hours of Saturday, March 18, when officers on the midnight tour found them on Pound Ridge Road, according to the Bedford Police Department.

Upon finding them, officers promptly named the animals Williams and Leone after the officers who found them and began going door to door to find the donkeys' home.

Eventually, one generous resident even provided officers with a truck to transport the donkeys to temporary stalls.

Luckily, the story has a happy ending, as the two lost donkeys were eventually returned to their owner, police said.
